Make sure that all dangers of frost has passed. Artichokes requires good amount of sunlight so make sure that the plant is in a location that gets at least 8 hours of sunlight. Mix organic matter and manure with the soil and make sure that the soil is well drained.
Make sure that the soil around the plant is moist. You can also put some mulch around the plant which will keep the soil moist and make sure no weeds are growing near your plant.
