AI Farming Inc. ("AI Farming Inc.," "we," "us," or "our") operates the AI Farming Inc. website (aifarming.ca) and the AI Farming Inc. mobile application for iOS and Android (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you when you use the Service.
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide to Us
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and, for institutional users, school/organization name and role (teacher, administrator, student coordinator).
- Profile information: profile photo, location (city/region), and garden or farm type (home garden, school garden, commercial farm).
- Plant and garden data: crop types, planting dates, task lists, and notes you add about your plants or land.
- Photos you upload: images of plants, crops, or garden areas submitted for AI Plant Health Scan or stored in your garden log.
- Marketplace information: listings you create, items you buy or sell, shipping/pickup details, and communications with other users through the marketplace.
- Payment information: billing name and billing address. Card and payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
- Communications: messages you send to our support team, survey responses, and the content of your AI Chat conversations with our AI assistant.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and IP address.
- Usage data: features used, screens viewed, scan and recommendation activity, in-app actions, and crash/diagnostic logs, collected through Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics.
- Push notification tokens: used to deliver frost alerts, watering reminders, and task notifications through Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
3.3 Information From Device Permissions and Sensors
With your permission, granted through your device settings, the Service may access:
- Camera and photo library — to capture or upload photos for AI Plant Health Scan and garden records.
- Location (GPS) — to provide localized weather, frost alerts, soil and climate analysis, and to show nearby marketplace listings. You may control location access at any time in your device settings.
- Connected IoT devices/sensors — if you connect a compatible soil moisture, climate, or garden sensor, we collect the readings transmitted by that device (e.g., soil moisture, temperature, humidity, light levels).
3.4 Information From Third Parties
- Payment confirmation and limited transaction data from Stripe (e.g., payment status, last four digits of card, card type).
- If you choose to sign in using a third-party account (e.g., Google or Apple Sign-In), we receive basic profile information (name, email) from that provider as permitted by your settings with them.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Create and manage your account and provide the Service, including AI-powered crop planning, disease/pest detection, growth monitoring, and marketplace functionality;
- Process photos through our AI/machine learning models to generate disease, pest, and nutrient deficiency recommendations;
- Process transactions and subscription billing through Stripe;
- Personalize weather, frost, and irrigation recommendations based on your location and connected sensor data;
- Send transactional and service notifications (e.g., frost alerts, task reminders, order updates) and, where you have opted in, marketing communications;
- Facilitate marketplace transactions and communications between buyers and sellers;
- Monitor, maintain, and improve the Service, including troubleshooting, analytics, and product development;
- Train and improve our AI models using photos and related data, in aggregated or de-identified form where feasible (see Section 5);
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
5. AI Processing of Your Photos and Data
When you use AI Plant Health Scan or AI Chat, the photos and information you submit are processed by artificial intelligence and machine learning systems (operated by us or by third-party AI service providers under contract) to generate a diagnosis, recommendation, or response. AI-generated results are informational only (see the Terms & Conditions, "No Professional Advice"). We may retain scan images and results to maintain your garden history and, unless you opt out in the app's privacy settings, to help improve the accuracy of our AI models. You may request deletion of your scan history at any time by contacting us at info@aifarming.ca.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described in Section 8, subject to legal retention requirements (e.g., transaction and tax records).
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or update your personal information through your account settings;
- Request deletion of your account and personal information;
- Withdraw consent for optional data collection (e.g., location, camera, marketing emails) at any time via your device settings or in-app preferences;
- Opt out of AI model-improvement use of your photos, as described in Section 5;
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and, where applicable under the GDPR, request data portability;
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and individual users must meet the eligibility requirements in our Terms & Conditions to create a personal account. Our School Garden program is designed for use by teachers and educational institutions, which may set up classroom or student accounts as part of a supervised curriculum; in such cases, the school or institution — not the individual student — is responsible for obtaining any parental/guardian consent required by applicable law before students use the Service. If we learn that we have collected personal information directly from a child under 13 outside of an authorized institutional program, we will take steps to delete it. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us information may contact info@aifarming.ca.
10. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure processing of payment data through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Data Transfers
AI Farming Inc. is based in Canada, and information may be stored and processed in Canada, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers of personal information.
13. Marketplace and Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or facilitate transactions with third-party sellers/buyers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other users or third parties. Please review their policies before sharing personal information.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice (e.g., an in-app notification or email).
